I've had four TDIs (MKIV, MKV, and MKVI) tuned via Malone and have nothing but good things to say. However, as you mentioned, the 265/425 wheel figures on their website are definitely a misprint - I'll probably drop them a note.
I'm currently in the market for a 335d, and would certainly be ok with having a 342hp/504tq setup at the crank! Not for $1,200, though - I'll run the car up to my Malone installer here in TX |

I looked into Malone for my X5, I ran Malone on my VW and was happy with it.
When I inquired with my local Malone dealer, Volks and rings, I was told they needed the car and dde in their shop in order to program, which wasn't possible for me as My car was on my lift. I was pretty turned off and went with BPC for my X5 tune as well. |

Sure do. Had their stage 1 on my 2010 golf TDI. Good numbers and really clean tune-gains pretty good nothing flashy. I just enjoyed getting better MPG and having a little more pull through 3rd/4th gear. Apex tuning in North Carolina are Unitronic guys.

I've said it before and I'll say it again, all of TDIClub is going to be over here eventually, lol!
I loved my TDI's, but this car is on a whole other level.

Mark and I and developing some stuff currently...I Have been running stage 1 for a half a year and loving it! Smooth power delivery and no issues with mil lights or regens...
There may or may not be all sorts of other options for racing purposes only available... wink wink nudge nudge.. We are also waiting patiently for a full exhaust with cats that should be very interesting... They are coming from a very reputable manufacturer. The plan is to have a complete 2.5 system with near zero restriction.. Mark doesn't advertise much for the diesel bimmers but I assure you its out there and up to the tdi standards that we have all become accustomed to...

If those are dyno numbers they seem high for a stock vehicle and the number for whp and wtq are lower for a x5 due to the awd, gearing, and tire size.
Here is what my 12 X5d LCI put down stock on a dynojet 229.85 hp @ 3461 RPM 392.31 ft lbs @ 1901 RPM http://www.xbimmers.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1142199 |

any vw guys remember the malone tune with the q-loader? allows you to program ecu through the obd with different programs.
is that going to be possible with the 335d? |

My opinion is if we want more options, we have to grow the vendor base by having a lot of ex-Tdi enthusiasts come over to the BMW diesel platform, then some of those vendors will follow. If a bunch of ex-Tdi heads buy up cars from disinterested soccer moms or whatever, that's a good thing for us. If we had 30% of the vendor base Tdiclub.com had, we'd have a 500 hp 335D by now, with 600 hp in sight, and cheap OEM+ upgrade paths for the rest of us mere mortals. |

One of the nice options we have for the BMWs is we can clone the DDEs, it would be a lot easier to just have an exchange program with you that would work like....

the benefit of having your own obd tuning tool was the flexibility and timeliness of getting tunes out. on my tdi, my custom tune with malone grew with me as my mods grew. modding and logging and tuning was easy! could also have a variety of tunes for specific situations.. or even with different tuners.
the q-loader was nowhere near 3000$ either. it was in the hundreds. the sheer number of tdi's vs. the small number of 335d's probably makes it improbable.. but they have it in the UK already! so what's up. |

You don't get to buy the tool for $3000, that's a deposit and the tuners have no control over the inexpensive tools being available. I get what you're saying though.
