2008 335i coding help... crazy I know ywa..
I have an 08 335i with factory bi-xenon xenon lighting, Adaptive and auto leveling... all that..
Here comes my problem... My OEM'S were damaged pretty bad and I sold them. They may have been repairable but I doubt it. I purchased a set of rolling gears for the aesthetics and all I need to know is this.. How do i code out the auto leveling? The only shop in town that would attempt it couldn't figure it out with autologic. Can I code my car to think it's a halogen car? This way pushing the stalk will keep the highbeam on? I obviously know nothing about coding but hope on of you do. I can buy a cable but what exact kind? What software do I download.... Really desperate to get this fixed. Thank everyone who can help. I'm in Louisville KY and if anyone local can help or meet me I'm wiling to pay. Last edited by Crestwood335; 11-09-2016 at 02:55 PM.. |

To code out Auto levelling simply:
change: AUTO_LWR_ENABLE to nicht_aktiv in your NFRM module... Maybe Carly can do this. I don't know. Just use a K+DCAN cable and NCS Expert. |

Where do I get ncs expert? How much is it?
Will I be able to trick my car into thinking it has a halogen setup? To use the push function for permanent high beams when I choose? Or are there wiring options? Thanks |

So you wish to go from OEM Xenon HID with AHL to basic halogen setup with aftermarket headlights plug and play?
Seems crazy to me but ok, each to their own. To do it properly you'll need to make some small wiring changes (depends on FRM version in your car). Then VO code your car to remove the xenon headlight and AHL options. This will default your car to a basic halogen setup. BMW factory coding software is freely available on this forum. |

I understand how crazy it sounds. I have a new set with an hid kit that I am satisfied with, not my daily driver car but. Want all functionality... just not going to spend that much more on the car.
So can you give me some guidance? How do I know what FRM I have? How do I determine exactly what options to code out. I greatly appreciate your help... I've ordered the K+Dcan already from the above reply. I'll paypal you some money if you can walk me through it once it's all done... |

Now you've ordered a cable download V3 Released! - Preloaded VMWare/VBox Image for Diagnostics, Programming, and Coding http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1220039
What is the manufacturing date of your car? Month/year. |

You can find build date by looking a drivers side door pillar where tyre pressures are etc.
Is your car LCI or preLCI? I'd imagine you have FRM2 installed. If it's a preLCI then have a look at this: http://www.e90post.com/forums/attach...2&d=1390146070 It's the BMW Retrofit from halogen to no-xenon AHL for preLCI. Effectively you need to work in reverse. At least the pin assignments will need to be changed. If you have ISTA D search for wiring diagram for FRM2. I don't think it'll need many changes. Once wiring is done then VO code to remove $522 and $524. |
