20i BMW Software Update

Took mine in the other day for a new head unit and map update but unknown to me at the time, until I drove away that they had also done a software update to the car/ECU.

This was evident on just driving away from the dealer. I called the dealer to day and the head technician confirmed this. It is much smother feels more like what it should have been.

Simon see if you can get it done you will notice the difference immediately.

Is that an N20 or B48 engine update? Sounds interesting. Can you elaborate on smother? Or is that pretty much it.

Hi the N20

My guess it to do with the fueling no lurching when pulling away I have not driven it much since picking it up hard to say what else its done but very noticeably nicer to drive, sorry I am unable to say more, surprised they did not advise me upon picking it up.

Sweet, thanks! I'll be sure to ask for the update when it's serviced.

In for more info on this update! Wondering what I can say to my SA that they will do this update. I had to pull teeth just to get my idrive flashed which gave me the heated steering wheel notification.

The software update will have reset the adaptations on the gearbox, which is most likely what you are experiencing.
