Lucky me, first drive train malfunction 1475 miles

Occured at around 4k at throttle tip in sport+/ds stuttering wouldn't produce any power, got the error came to a halt and was shaking / misfiring at idle. Restarted and it went away... sounds like we're back to the n54 coil games *sigh*

Can't reproduce now but will take in for diagnosis and repair.

The faults will be stored. No reason to try to reproduce--they will see what it was.

I got one too. It happened when I hesistated on WOT, from around 5mph. I shit myself.

When I turned the car on/off, it was back to normal.

What octane are you running?

Does it contain ethanol? In Canada it is found in any gas formula except Shell V Power 91 and Esso 93 in Toronto.

Great news.. service has been telling me the 340i has been relatively trouble free.. lets see what it'll do after 50k.. looks like youll get there first

If it hasn't happened again, that is a great sign. Might have been a small hiccup in the settings or adaptation values, who knows.

I had mega coil issues on my 2009 e92... replaced them twice and finally the roadside tech who came out said he still wasn't happy so he sent me in to have a new cat fitted under warranty!!

I HAVE 1200 MILES on my 340i, sitting in traffic, when I was a ready to exit off the off ramp, I stepped on the gas 70%..... and the car shut down power, & the car started to shake, It felt like the drive shaft had broke.

The error message display

"Drive Terrian Mel function" contact your nearest authorized BMW dealer.

When I pulled over & shut down the car, waited for a minute or two, then started it up, ALL Normal. no errors or codes.

I now have 1700 miles.

Quick update:

I now have 3200 miles, and have not had any other problems,
hopefully the error i had at 1200miles will not come back.

I am installing the Dinan (sport) tune with a REMUS Mid pipe & REMUS EXHAUST

I will have pics soon......The B58 motor is amazing.
I also own a 2016 Mustang GT 5.0 which is a beast also, but the B58
would give my 5.0 V8 a run for its money.
