Heard the weirdest story today

So, I was calling a highly recommended dealer today and got the weirdest story:

Apparently BMW no longer compensates for the 5% discount that is given for European Delivery. The CA told me that they found this out when someone bought an M2 through ED last month and BMW did not apparently compensate them for the 5% discount that they had offered the customer. He went on to state that, if they were to give the 5% discount for ED cars, it is basically going out of their gross margin.

Is this really true. I know that BMW reduced the ED discount from 7% to 5% this year but this is the first that I am hearing of this.

I think I heard the same.

I think it is called AVP that BMW gives to the dealer for state side delivery when doing ED.

Can anyone else confirm?
