ESS flash for Pure Stg2

Anyone in here running the ESS flash with their Pure Stg2? I received this dyno graph from ESS some time ago...

Looks like a good base for JB4 stacking

EDIT: Dont necessarily need a Stg2 to run this tune!

We've done a couple back-end flashes in-house. It basically elevates the platform for what the JB4 can do and puts fueling in a more optimal range. Also removes check engine lights and the top speed limiter. If you have Pure stage 2 paired with additional fuel system upgrades, I'd expect a nice bump in power.

How does your backend flash work ? targets stock boost levels (map0/4) or higher boost levels even in map0/4 ?

Depends on what fuel you run. This rich afr that early in the rev band will put the hpfp down fast. And if you run e85 mix not needed to go that rich. Honestly stock afr's are fine.

Power comes from boost and timing. Too rich afr will rob power too. Biggest difference with a good flash (eg bm3 with ptf flash) is the way the car responds. Throttle always open.

I have yet to see a faster 60-130 from another n55. And at the time i ran jb4 only.

Your fastest 60-130 was with PTF/BM3 or jb4 only ?

Jb4 only. I did not try pi with flash. Decided to part with the car prior to that.

When I get my Pure Stg2 installed I will most likely get this flash done via remote E-flash. Reason being that ESS owe me a tune (very long story). Hope I can convince them to be a little less aggressive on the AFR - for reasons Darkiedm4 mention.

So whats the good AFR they should be targeting?
Because as you guys can see Tuner A targets 12.6, Tuner B targets 12.0-12.2 etc
Then Tuner A has a huge Torque but falls off before 4500rpm etc

I think stock AFR's are fine. You have to work with the car you get in front of you. Does he run 93 only? E20-30 mix? E50-60 mix? The HPFP will be stressed more and you will find limits sooner. Does he have supplemental fuelling like meth/tbi/pi that you can work with? There is no set answer in stone.

My car drove fine with stock AFR's. However stock AFR's are different on PWG and EWG cars etc. And even on PWG F2x M135i the AFR are more rich compared to PWG 335i models.

This is what I have been arguing on N54tech also, but if you get your tune from PTF they will target 12.2 (Halim's responce to my emails). On my PWG car this will be inline with what I see up top so that is ok. 12.2 midrange though....? As Peter experienced himself that was where the HPFP was tapping out so I hope ESS/PTF will agree to lean it out a bit there down the road.

Darkiedm4 You have actually been involved in the bootmod3 development - right? Do you know then why they chose to go so rich midrange?

On a stage2 turbo - ofcourse depending on the amount of boost you run and fuel mix - this may be too rich for the hpfp without supplemental fuelling.
