help! why has suspension suddenly sagged on one side?

Hi all

just noticed that my E90 LCI 335i has dropped on the right side rear (looking from the back).

I measured from the ground to the top of front and rear wheel arches and there's a difference of approx 12mm betwee left and right heights. Not much I know, but it was noticeable to me which is why I measured it.

Any reasons for this? Stock suspension and wheels. Tyres all correct pressures. No passengers or cargo. Parked in usual flat parking area. Right hand-drive car, by the way.

It did go in 1 week ago to dealer for regular annual inspection but nothing to do with suspension or wheels.

thank you

Satz

It's well known that RHD models sag slightly on the right hand side. A quick google will result in hundreds of topics.

I did see other threads that claim that this is normal. Only in a BMW would this be 'normal' I guess...

But mine seems to have happened suddenly

I would loosen up the lug bolts and jack up the car via the pumpkin and then take the tire off. Something is not right. Check your springs for any cracks or being completely broken. Also, check the top and bottom of the shock to make sure it's secure at those spots.

Checked with the dealer and their response was to replace the springs and check!
Seems to be an expensive way to diagnose

hi storm breaks, I've read some posts in various places saying that the battery and/or the driver's weight could cause the sag. But I don't think the few hundred pounds of battery plus driver should make too much impact considering the car itself weighs thousands of pounds (I work in kilograms, but you know what I mean...)

I've had so many non-BMW cars and never had this suspension issue...

cheers

Bad shocks.
Had similar issue. Replaced shocks, sagging gone.
