How Much?????!!!!! :character0110:
Evening all,
So I have been advised by Cotswold BMW that my tyres have worn unevenly (excessive wearing on the outside of the tyres on all corners) and should consider thinking about. Seeing as it is close to legal limits, I thought I do a bit retail therapy and look up some new tyres. Been reading up a lot on the MPSS and GoodYear F1 Asym 3. Anyway from all the gathered knowledge and discussions held in this forum and other external reviews I thought I'd spend the extra cash and give the MPSS a go. Since they are highly recommended. Anyway I've been shopping around and found currently black circle to be the least expensive. I also it would be a good comparison to see what the price difference were getting BMW to source and fit the tyres...........BMW confirmed all in £1600+ for four corners?! Can any decent car garage fit BMW wheels with TPMS? or does it have to be BMW? Is there anything I should keep an eye out for or questions I should ask before I let the garage carry out the works? Also, what should a proper wheel alignment include? Cheers |

I had one tyre replaced on an insurance claim last weekend and it was a GoodYear F1 Asym for just a bit under £200 fitted.
They had no issues with the TPMS but just make sure you go to a half decent fitter. Some of the small independents have issues with 19" runflats and may damage the rims.

IMHO there are other tyres out there significantly cheaper and if you are not driving "on the edge" everyday can be bought for a ton per corner.
I got Hankook Ventus evo 2`s and very happy with them |

Agree with the others - Black Circles or Mytyres and the local fitter of your choosing are a much better option. There's a decent chance that for your £1600 your local dealer will take them to an external fitter anyway.

I used Asda Tyres for my set of 19" MPSS a few months ago. The price was about £700 including fitting at a local tyre place of my choosing (from their list).
Prompted by something I read, and having now looked more closely at the T&Cs, the tyres supplied could in theory be up to 5 years old. Several of the discounters have a similar approach so well worth checking. In practice my MPSS were 9 months old, which was fine. |

i still cant find better deals including fitting than blackcircles.com
Here is what i do: 1. Wheel alignment check from Kwik Fit - its free! 2. If something needs adjusting, front/rear toe, caster or camber, they will prinyt our report and if you are happy to proceed charge accordingly, i believe worst case scenario is £125 and lowest is £44. You get 30 days free of charge re-alignment within 30 days! And its not like they whats wrong with it, they simply set it up and do new test. 3. Once your alignment is sorted, get your new tyres fitted by whoever you choose, i would blackcircles.com 4. Return to Kwik Fit for check and if necessary another alignment again. I have done this before, its best way to ensure your wheels are set correctly and there is no uneven wear to your new precious and expensive tyres. Whilst people might think of 'Kwik Fit' as a swear word but it does have its use, for example they use Hunter alignment equipment which is almost idiot proof and there are good branches and bad ones. Good luck My blackcircles shopping list before x-mas, i do not like Bridgstones: Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetric 2 (BMW) 225/40 R19 Y (89), Run Flat, Asymmetrical 2 £203.99 £407.98 Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetric 2 (BMW) 255/35 R19 Y (92), Run Flat, Asymmetrical 2 £178.42 £356.84 + Kwik Fit £99 alignment as i already had them checking my new F30 and now its needs adjusting Last edited by vadimo; 10-15-2016 at 02:00 PM.. |

Any ideas as to whether it will keep its existing name, and the expected performance achievements over its predecessor? Sound hard if the tyre is already very good, but I guess they can look at improving wet traction similar to GoodYear F1's Ays 3???
