Does e90post.com add cookies?

I ran SpySweeper before logging in, quarantined several cookies.

Then I logged in to e90post, read and posted, then logged out.

Then I ran SpySweeper again, and it found 3 cookies:
about cookie
tacoda cookie
atlas dmt cookie

None appear to be malicious (all low risk), and I guess e90post needs to make money somehow.

I have thousands of other cookies on my PC that SpySweeper doesn't deem to be as risky as these 3.

Tacoda cookie, and I'm guessing the other 2 are similar, puts up ads that are targeted to me.

do you even know what cookies are for? Of course e90 post adds cookies. That's how it knows it's me whenever I visit e90post on a particular browser.

I'm guessing we get more and more as more and more vendors vie for that spot on the top of each page.

There's only one way to find out... Eat them and see if they taste like a BMW. Licking your car should suffice for comparison.

The auto sign-in adds a cookie, but it isn't pick up as malware. I understand a cookie is needed for auto sign-in, but spyware software doesn't touch that.

I'm talking about adware.

dont run SpySweeper - that is the biggest load of crap out there. if you want anything that remotely scans your pc for problems get HijackThis and a decent antivirus program - not Symantec Internet Security though - that is also Crap!

I get Spysweeper free through work. AFAIK, does the job for spyware.

HiJack This, I thought, just gives you a snapshot of how your PC is running (active processes, etc).

Do you know of a good Spyware/malware program? I haven't used Spybot S&D in a year or so - I'm concerned that it isn't legit. I used Ad-Aware for about a year, worked OK. I've heard good things about Trend's products.

I don't like Norton; System Works used to do exactly what Windows already did, with a good-looking front end. It was a rip, a fraud.
