When you open the BMW Connected NA app there is a map on the screen tap it. The new screen says Vehicle Finder, the blue dot is you/phone and the car is a black arrow head with a circle around it.
EDIT: corrected with information from WaMi below iOS 10 also sends you notification telling you where your car is parked... http://www.iphonehacks.com/2016/09/f...pp-ios-10.html EDIT: BTW, the iOS 10 parked car feature works with any car that connects via BT or CarPlay and does not require the iDrive GPS configuration, i.e. even my 2008 BMW X5 works. The blue dot is actually where you are (where your phone is). Your car will show up on the map as a black arrow head with a circle around it. You can use both the BMW Remote app as well as the BMW Connected app to do this. My car wasn't showing up on the map up until I enabled the GPS option through iDrive that allows the app to receive vehicle GPS coordinates.
