Hey guys,
As the title states, I'm wondering if anyone has identified a way (either through hardware or software) to reduce or eliminate the exhaust burble. I'm very interested as this is a barrier to entry for some. Specifically, it would be great to get the increased sound and performance from the Akra Evo without addition of a loud rev-down/overrun burble. And before "those guys" arrive to flame the thread to death, sound is subjective. To each his own. TIA. |

Leave in comfort mode. No burble.

Seems like you're headed in the right direction though. It seems like a tuner might be able lot accommodate my particular disdain toward overrun burble. |

Personnaly I like "pop and burble" a lot and my M2 MPE is always in "Track" mode (except late at night in residential areas) but I can understand that people who like a quiet car may not like it. |

I kind of relate to this. Not always in the mood for the burbles and pops but, despite of this, end up putting up with them and drive in sport/sport+ every time because of the responsiveness/freedom.

As for those relating burble to overall noise level, I've got an e92M3 with an Akra Evo that's tuned without burble (most tuners offer this now as an "option"). Call me crazy, that sound just isn't for me. I would have an Akra Evo system ordered up the same day as my M2 so I'm not trying to class up the joint with a subdued car. Maybe the countless Huracans that constantly buzz my street ruined it for me. |

I don't think the burble is loud enough, you can't even hear it much in sport + with the windows up

Count me in as one of the folks who dislikes the programmed fuel overrun.
Having grown up in the Japanese tuner era, it reminds me of a poorly tuned Honda 4-cyl. I like the meatiness of the exhaust note, but the burbles are over the top. For the OP, I don't think you're going to get a satisfactory answer. Only a remap which removes the fuel overrun on throttle lift will take the burbles completely out; however, that bit of overrun does serve to keep the turbo spooled between gear changes, so it is a trade-off. Comfort mode makes the throttle feel quite heavy and overly progressive to me. I've been keeping it in Sport mostly, but honestly Sport+ has the least drive-by-wire feel for me, feeling almost exactly like my E36 M3. |

A remap is what I landed on to solve this. Wondering if someone like Evolve couldn't put together something that allowed for reduced overrun, thus cutting down the burbles while keeping the turbos spooled. I simply do not need/want that sound effect -- it only functions to turn me away from the car. |

I constantly hear this BS. If it's all programmed, why the hell does my 2l turbo 328i burble and pop in frigging ECO-Pro mode, but not in comfort mode? Was programmed exhaust overrun that much of a priority for the engineering team that worked on a mid-range family family car?

Thought I would add to this thread, and see if any Tuners have since released anything omitting the upshift burps. I think the pops and crackles really take away from this car's sweet sound, and would much prefer a loud pure note, rather than a "look at me fastcar burbleburble XD" one. I love real catless ones as much as any car enthusiast, however the OEM trend that Jaguar has brought upon us has gotten old real fast in my books.

Bumping this to see if any new info/solutions
Finally heard my own car from the outside (MPE in track mode, sport+) and the overrun is too over the top for me Would like the throttle and steering response plus traction from Sport+ but without the noises

for my setup i love the thunderous sounds in low rpm but over 3K rpm it gives a popping popcorn sound that i could not care for, since i have manual i am able to somewhat reduce those sounds by adapting a different driving style, i believe most tunes should be able to remove the burble?
