They are done with diesel's
I just spoke with Randall
For 335d = only stage 1 with emissions intact
It's a permanent decision from management!!

Any other tuners out there willing to do the alphabet soup delete? I was set on BPC, but now with all of this, it looks like that isn't an option anymore.

Wow, this sucks, even for those that got the BPC tune... My renntech has been over ridden before and I had to have it re-flashed.. Plus I know there had been some on going support with the def tank and sensors I think they were still working out... I saw a post about another EPA crack down on a Diesel engine maker for some heavy equipment vehicles... I wonder if they are on a mission.... Regardless, I don't believe any laws have changed and as long as it's for off road use its still legal

Well crap. I was about to buy a stage 2+ tune this upcoming week.

I doubt it is EPA related at all.

I looked on BPC's website and Bob doesn't seem to be on there under the team section or a guy I talked to named Luke this past few days. I wonder if Bob left and is going somewhere else?

I think it's coming from upper mgmt like suggested above by one poster. But regardless, that call is based on risk vs reward.

I just wonder if they considered what this means for the current install base they have, as well as perceptions on their brand in general. Don't get me wrong, they have a stellar reputation here, but not sure how this will be seen from current or potential clients.

I am probably also just mad because I am only 2 hrs from them and was so excited about working with them post cpo. Dallas, GA isn't that far I suppose.. Oh well, first hurricane Matthew, now this!

BPC, Bob and Randall have always been great. It's going to suck not seeing them on here, especially all there new findings and updates. Hopefully this will change. 335ds in the states still have catching up to do to the euro tuners and BPC was on there tails.

I was scheduled to get some work done in two weeks, then received a personal call from Bob regarding the situation.

If I was in their situation, I would do the same thing: running a small business you must eliminate unnecessary risk and liability is risk.

I am hoping nothing has happened but one fed with a bug up their ass and an army of gov officials to waste tax payer money on litigation against the small guys is all it takes to squash out small businesses (while the big ones with lobbies get away with it, its just the down side of capitalism in 'Merica

We don't want this to happen to our friendly vendors, so my upgrade budget sits in the repair pile for now.

I am still considering if a Stage 1 is something to do: I want to give them some business regardless, as they are good people. Wish I was closer to use them as an Indy

Isn't the liability off of BPC if customers sign a waiver for off-road / track use only?

I think that although I have never used BPC, they certainly contributed a lot to the aftermarket advancement of the 335d, also from all accounts have great service. They are a big deal on this forum but lets be honest here. There are not many 335ds out there to work on. Every time I google something about our cars I ended up sifting through 335I information. They probably got some heat from a government official which was exacerbated by the TDI fallout. And they probably just made a business decision saying it wasn't worth it. The market is not big enough. All speculation from me. But anyways, Thanks BPC, you guys will be missed.
