DVLA Charge?

Hi,
I've got a private plate on my car. It's the first time I've ever had one.
Today I've got a charge for £25.81. Does anyone know what that might be for?
The plate has been on a couple of months. Paid for the number and the assignment fee together.

Is it something to do with retention of the number? I'm a bit confused by this:

OK. Ignore this. I've just remembered that this year I chose to pay my road tax monthly instead of in one go. Ooops! User error.

I was thinking that's bad they just making random charges.

Well it fooled me because now it has the new reg number against the charge where before it has my original number and with it being September (month when new plates are offered) before I thought there might be some recurring charge to keep the number. Duh!
