base to m-sport
Wondering if anyone has tried transforming their base/sportsline 228i into an m-sport like 228i. I drive a sportsline 228i with some modifications and i just feel like theres something missing and i know that its the bumpers. I really regret not getting the m-sport

Quite the opposite. I have all the sporty mechanical bits (THP etc.) but deliberately not the M-Sport body. More choice of colors, less of a cop-magnet, and it doesn't scrape its nose on everything. I do covet the M steering wheel and shifter, though.

MSport is not a goal for me. I leap-frogged the small rear spoiler to the MPerformance version, added the black kidney grilles, but have no interest whatsoever in the front fascia. I wouldn't give up fog lamps to have a shape in the fasica bend more this way instead of that. Taking the lower control arms from the M2 to enhance the Track Handling Package really makes this a M228i, but in my preferred color choice. The ZHP manual gearshift knob also adds a nice touch which MSport does not include.

228ix Estoril here with M sport. No THP, works for me. I like the aero look. I have had a few cars with low front fascia's I scraped but over time I got used to them.

There is a retrofit kit available which includes all the required parts such as the deformation element, brake ducts, etc. you'll only need to purchase the bumper covers and diffuser separately. Here's the part number 51952360363. Ask your dealer about it, they should be able to do it.
I've also attached the installation document in case you are wondering what the process is like. |

Yes! I have base 220 and it's a 235 now Only difference is I'm still packing N20 and not N55. Other than that the wheels/tyres. Still in stock 17, instead of 18. Exhaust system is a Remus x4 so that's not 235-ish

You kept the fogs though. Did you get the different black portions or did you use the ones from the regular bumper? I can't tell from the pic.

Great question
Yeah, we don't have "fogless" version over here so the new bumper included those and were changed.

For rwd only, yes...LCA swap is relatively quick as done at the dealership in less than an hour. New alignment is required, allowing for one degree of negative camber, technically out of spec. Wonderful results!

Sure!
I sure can. Let me get the detailed invoice. My question is: If you don't have fog lights stock, you might need an extra wiring.

I don't believe they sell them separately, given that it's a whole m-front bumper kit. Maybe in salvage yards if you just want the grills?

F22 M-Pack Front Bumper Retrofit
Hello Guys!
I am trying to install the front mpack bumper and i cant find the part number for the m-adapter that attaches on the bumper from underneath. In other BMW models i can find it under M-Pack engine encapsulation adapter, but not for the F22. I can only find the part that looks like the one i need get in order to mount the bumper from underneath being sold as a part in upgrade kits but not separate. Does anyone knows which part i need or what he did to connect the bumper from underneath. Many thanks!! |
