My exhaust is louder when it's raining :/

I have a Fabspeed valvetronic exhaust. I keep thinking that this is all in my head, but it seems like my exhaust sounds deeper and vibrates the cabin a bit more when it's raining. I think it has to do with water being on the exhaust pipe that runs under the car. I say that because it has to be raining a decent amount. If it's just sprinkling I don't notice it.

Anyone else notice the same thing or is this really just in my head?

I noticed the other day that it seems in cooler weather the stock 235 is louder at start up as it falls into idle.

cold water on certain sections of hot pipe, while other sections stay dry/hot, can cause some weird distortions overall. tough to troubleshoot exactly whats happening though.

Xenny is correct. There isn't much you can do to avoid it. It's a combination of a ton of different factors, not just in your head.

Haha, there is something I can do. Install water injection. I actually like how it sounds. I just wasn't sure if I was imagining things.

Humidity tends to make exhausts a bit louder. It's science.

I believe it. On one of my other cars when it rained my Sway bar would hit my exhaust LOL

Metal expanding at a different rate and stuff is what I attributed it too.

Think some of you are reading too much into this lol..

Maybe when it's not raining you have the windows down and when it's raining you have the windows up.

Windows up and the cabin noise is amplified.

nice one!

it's also probably because people drive slower in the rain. slower speed = less rpms = less noise!

Lol, nope. Summers here are brutal. Couldn't ride around with windows down for a span of about a month. It sucked.

This is absolutely a thing. Happened with my AWE which is why I ultimately returned it. When it rained it got significantly louder with a lot more drone.
