What's covered for 2017 models 3 year 36k mile warranty?

I am debating what to do when I go to pickup the car regarding the ultimate care / ultimate care +1 bundle.

I'm really wondering what is covered under the 3 year warranty, what services are included, etc.

Does anyone have a link?

If one has the option to pick up a new '16 before their '17 allocation arrives, would the warranty plan and slight decrease in price be worth it??

If you don't care about the Idrive 5 and apple car play, AND you will be keeping the car for more than 4 years, then yeah , why not

I'm wondering if one more year of warranty outweighs listing the car as a 2017 if I do ever decide to sell in the future.

P.s Looking forward to a good game today. My team has (RM) been in an awkward form right now so I'm nervous.

I saw another thread that had this link in it:

http://www.bmwusaservice.com/ultimatecare

The dealer called me to setup a "second delivery" since I did a Performance Delivery initially and they say they always schedule another delivery at the dealer afterwards, when I come in for that I will ask them about the options of extending the maintenance and including some things it used to had.

Does anyone owning a 2017 looked into this?

BMW Ultimate Care+ ($600) adds wipers, brake pads and clutch. I sure hope that I don't burn out the clutch and I would be on the bubble to replace the brakes at 36K, at least according to the car's service info.

For example, if I somehow manage to crack a piston ring, in my 2nd year of ownership, is that covered?

I originally was planning on getting "BMW Ultimate Care+ and BMW Ultimate Care+1 Bundle" for $2,049. And I'm not sure, but it looks like you might also have to buy the "BMW Ultimate Care+" for an additional $600. It lets you select both when you use the "build your car" app on the website.

However, I am not going to sell the car within the first 4 years I own it. I am not going to track the car, so the chances of me wearing out the clutch is minimal (and I can get the clutch replaced for less than $2049). I probably won't even wear out the pads, as I don't plan on putting a lot of miles on the car.

On the other side of the coin, I see the front & rear rotors list at $250 each ($1000), and pads for the front ($260) & rear($190) cost $450 total. I do plan on changing the oil more often than the suggested 10k mile interval.

I guess it's going to be a long session with the financial guy at the dealership.

I would imagine the only benefit of the Ultimate Care + 1 at $1449 would be the rear pads (maybe rotors) and a couple of oil changes and the front pads/rotors if not done prior to the 36K. Seems like a lot to me.

BTW, finance guy is only going to give you options, you should educate yourself before hand so that you make an informed decision.

Edit: If correct, this page http://www.bmwusaservice.com/ultimatecare confirms that you can add the BMW Ultimate Care(s) anytime before the original warranty expires for the same price; provided BMW doesn't increase the price w/in the next three years, They don't list M2 so I selected 2 Series M Coupe.

Thanks for the link, I also saw that chart, but I couldn't find it for the M2. So I was not inclined to believe it was the same coverage for the same pricing. I guess there's just no accurate info for the 2017 on their site yet.

And I agree, I need some education of this stuff. This will be my VERY FIRST new car, so I am totally clueless when it comes to all of this. I've had many used BMW's and always had them serviced by my trusted local BMW Indy mechanic / or wrenched on them myself depending on the difficulty of the job.

I really don't want to sit down with the financial guy in a state of ignorance, which is why I'm looking for some kind of documentation about the different packages. I don't think the car will be here for at least 2 months, so I do have some time to weigh my options. Any help from the forum would be greatly appreciated. If there are any current M2 owners out there that didn't make the 4 year / 50k mile cut off, I'd love to hear what you've chosen.

Do you have a link to the service info for the M2? I can't even find that anywhere.

I picked up my car ~ 1 1/2 weeks ago. I refused all of the BS coverages they offered. The first two I think were BMW Ultimate Care but not explicitly listed as such. They also offered wheel protection, paintless dent removal, etc. I politely listened to his read through, declined everything and paid the man for the car.

Mass confusion here. You are talking about the MAINTENANCE plan not the WARRANTY. Not the same thing. The cars still have 4 year 50k mile warranties. That includes burning a piston. I love the way cars often need brakes right after the 48k maintenance expires. BMW is just cutting costs here and their maintenance plan was about the most generous in the industry.

If your brakes are low go do a few sessions at the track and get free brakes. I'm debating if I want to pay the 600 to upgrade my brakes. Rotors can be pretty expensive for F8x.

You could probably get a decent set of track pads for $600.

Actually, I was looking for info on both maintenance and warranty, sorry for confusion. I ended up calling BMW NA and was told since there is no info on the website concerning the M2 (because it's too new) to use the documentation for the 2014 M5.
