YADLT (Yet Another Dakota Leather Thread, or, how to clean wax from Dakota leather?)

So the Dakota leather on my car was extremely dry when I received it, and I tried a leather product that I quickly realized was not right for Dakota leather- that product contained a bunch of lanolin. I have a few areas where the lanolin has essentially dried into a wax coating the seats. I'm sure it's not harmful, but it's unsightly and it will prevent any other treatment from penetrating through to the Dakota.

I started trying to clean it using a bit of vinegar/water solution, and that did nothing. I then tried some denatured alcohol, which again, seemed to do nothing. I'm afraid to use anything stronger.

Any ideas? Maybe some hot water or steam?

And before you start, neither the vinegar/water nor the denatured alcohol did any kind of damage to the seats. No dye came up on my application cloth. Of course, I wouldn't use either on any sort of regular basis. I just want to get this lanolin wax off my leather. I'm pretty sure they would come clean just with regular use, but these are the back seats, and I think the car will be in a junkyard before the back seats get used enough to wear it off.

Alright, I'll try to capture it in the right kind of light. It basically just looks like a shiny spot, almost like a spot of Armor All on the leather (which is schwarz, by the way). It's not the worst thing in the world, I just wish it wasn't there.
