Port Installed Accessories

Hey Guys,

Just got my build week. Week 47! For those who are wondering I'm paying exactly MSRP. I was going through the catalog of Port Installed Accessories and was wondering if anyone had any accessories they are glad they bought, or are mad they didn't buy or vice versa. Any feedback is much appreciated. So far I plan on getting the following:

1) MPE
2) Black Kidneys
3) Painted Side Markers
4) Rear Diffuser

What are painted side markers? Are those the stripes?

To me, the illuminated door sills and steel pedals are nice touches and not that expensive.

How much are the pedals? Also does it actually help with grip or makes it slightly worse?

It does look nice but just curious what the difference is in terms of feel when driving especially with the clutch.

Didn't make a lick of difference on my M Coupe. Purely cosmetic.

Pretty much anything installed at the port is for aesthetics.

I have no problems with the grip of the pedals. The stainless steel pedals have raised rubber pieces between the metals

I just picked up my car last Friday. I had front grills and side 'grills' installed at port. I debated for some time whether or not to just buy the parts and install them myself or have them port installed. You don't save that much $$ doing installation yourself, and ultimately it's just really cool to see your car for the first time with those aesthetic add-ons already on the car when you pick it up. For my money, well worth to get them port-installed.
PS. The last time I installed the blacked out kidney grills on a BMW, I dropped a plastic pry tool down the front of the radiator opening, I couldn't find it, it rattled for weeks before I took it to the shop and had someone find and remove the damn thing.

im on the same page as you. Aesthetically i believe AW is way too subtle/femme (no offense) without the black bits. wanted to pick up as envisioned not as a project lol

Hypothetical question. Let's say a certain forum member has a CA who told him (no joke) that there's no catalog of port installed accessories and the only way you can find out what's available for install at the port is to search the internet forums. Would you be able to shoot out a link this this catalog you were going though? Not for me of course, I mean, you know I'm just asking for a friend and stuff...

I'm wondering the same thing because I thought I had seen other people picking their car up w/ CF spoiler and suspension at the dealerships but it doesn't seem that is the case. My CA is saying those items can not be port installed.

I'm planning on doing PCD, and wondering if it is possible to have the guys at PC to install the spoiler and potentially my LBB reflectors and black chrome M2 badge. I'm with the above that seeing your car as close to the way you want it when delivered feels so much better to me.

My dealership has a "catalog" of pieces of paper stapled together with all of my options. According to my CA all of these options are installed at the port other than floor mats. There is a sticky thread I believe with all of the options you can select. I would email your CA with the part number or item and they should have it in their system.

Here's what my CA emailed me today with regards to part numbers:

1. M Performance exhaust $2985

2. 0Z06 Kidney Grills $400

3. 0Z32 Illuminated door sill $380

4. 0Z4G Carbon fiber rear diffuser $1250

I'm getting a number of accessories installed, including the spoiler. I was told it cannot be installed at port (mirrors, grilles, and side sills will be). However, I will be having the spoiler installed at the dealership before pickup. Other people may have done the same.

Maybe different ports have different rules about what can / cannot be installed? Mine is heading to Port Hueneme in Ontario, CA.

My CA had some sort of printout that listed all of the port installed options. I wish I would have kept it.

I can Dm u my build sheet which has the codes for all of the outside goodies sans MPE and Cf spoiler

and pedals code. If that would help. I literally took a picture off here that someone posted of their build sheet and sent it to my SA when he was kinda lost in the sauce about it as well, and it worked out perfectly

I was told that CF spoiler was non port install also. The thing that discredits that is that they told me the same thing about pedals then ended up admitting they were wrong AF
