Dashcam interior fuse box

I know I am being thick here but where is the fuse box behind the dash and which fuse is switched live?

I need to plumb my dashcam in

Cheers
Lee

There is in the X5 (behind the panel above the pedals) - I've connected my day cam to that yesterday.

Worth checking in the F30 before you wire all the way to the back.

Mines in the 12v in the passenger foot well. Not hard wired as such but you would never notice it or any wiring.

This is a switched live as far as I know, it powers down after a period of time.

I ended up extending the wires and running the cable to the boot for mine as I wanted the parking mode to work

Distribution power box on back is properly way to connect anything from interior to power up. Personally and for my customers I don't mix any wiring. Always go for genuine diagrams or do my own way, just simple put new connector to box, feed, new fuse.

Believe me, wiring from boot area is very quick, specially on roof line way ready to go for windscreen.
There is a plenty ground connectors points behind left wheel arch cover.

You can run the cable under the window rubbers in a few minutes. Super quick and totally out of sight. I remembered I fitted my data logger GPS unit only the other day and that was 'temporary'. It's been in about a year.

Roof line way in less than 0,5h, bottom inside channel protection route as cables goes from factory about 1h.

Which is not the way to go. Run it along the floor line. That way no DAB issues and no potential interference with air curtains.

Oh and don't use the hardware kit shown. The voltage cut off is too low to properly protect the battery.
