Seek and you shall find!

Thanks to a tip from a fellow Bimmerpost member (thanks Thespaz18!) I was able to secure a December build from a Texas dealer at MSRP. They were just about to release it and I got in with my deposit. I'd really like to drive it back to California but I may have to have it shipped. It may take some effort but if you really want one, they do exist....plus the hunt makes it that much more fun.

With all the out of state people getting allocations in Texas, it should keep my car pretty unique here when I finally get it in a month or so.

Not as unique as you think.
I'll be getting my LBB at about the same time... in north Dallas too.

All kidding aside congrats to both of us, the wait is almost over.

This was actually a point of discussion between me and my adviser. I have to say everyone I've spoken to in Texas (a lot) have been friendly and helpful. Most of the CA's in California give the "you'll be lucky if I allow you to get on the list to pay 10K over retail" attitude.

I'll be happy (well, not happy........maybe less unhappy) to pay the taxes in Texas and have a REALLY fun drive home from the dealer!

North Dallas owners like @CosmosMpower and @ Francis///M and the spaz18

should be following up with Terry Fair so that Vorshlag will finish up their camber plates

More than likely you can score a free labor install (pay for the parts ) of camber plates if you volunteer your car for test fit.

Ask me how I know !

Hey man some people like privacy. I hope the nearly puke inducing ride in my GT3 at COTA made up for it

By the way we'll be there again Oct 1/2 if you're interested in hanging out or driving.

Haha skating for 4 hours in the hot sun at the skatepark and then going for a spin in your car was probably not the best idea LOL.

Sweet, i'm down to meet up at the track again and that weekend will be ACL so anything to get me away from downtown works

Pretty sure you don't get out of paying your 10% CA tax on the car. You pay tax where you register the car. You'll also need to handle all the dmv stuff yourself.

Yes, I will have to pay all the taxes owed in my County unless the car is registered for 1 year out of state. I'm looking for a way to pay them in Texas so CA gets NOTHING........

(well except my DMV fee)
