Why do some bumpers have a bar in the center of the intakes?

Sorry if it has already been covered but why do some cars have this. I've only seen it in images.

What is the point of having this difference, just a visual distinction?

Is there anywhere NA'ers can buy this part? I like the way it looks.

the part numbers are:

51118055955
51118055956

However I would be careful as I believe you guys in NA have some extra radiators/coolers behind those grilles and the grilles with the thingy aren't open on both sides

This is the more odd part - there does not seem to be any rhyme or reason behind which M235s get both radiators and which do not. Make sure you double check with the dealer (if ordering) to ensure your model has both sides, otherwise one side will look like an intake, but it will be completely blocked off.

Thanks for the info, I had come to that realization too.

That is weird, I have two but I have seen pictures of M235s with only one side open.

Expect aftermarket thingy mods for NA soon

They will increase front downforce to improve cornering, increase HP, reduce drag to increase top speed, and improve gas mileage by 50%. All for $599.95!
