Question for all the WinkFP wizards

So I am installing a new 6AT into my 335i (old one took a crap on me) So from previous troubleshooting I have winkFP, INPA ECT installed to my laptop. If memory serves I had to input the VIN when flashing alpina and in the tutorial it was said to be very important to make sure the VIN I entered was correct. So my question is will this method of reprogramming the VIN work and allow the transmission to function as intended and is that all I have to do to code the new (to me) transmission to my car?

You can use the Tools32 to write the VIN instead of winKPF unless if you want to upgrade the version.
