Remove BMS JB Stage 1 for Flash?

I've read the the JB4 can cause issues when flashing, so the unit needs to be set to Map 0. Since the JB Stage 1 can't be adjusted, does it need to be removed before a flash (PPK/Alpina B3), or does it not make any difference being installed?

Isn't the stage 1 just a plug and play device that goes into the OBD?

I left mine installed the first time I flashed the Alpina software. I had no problems with the flash process or performance afterward.

The stage 1 only plugs into a few sensors, not the OBD or the CAN. Though for this reason I would just remove it, simply because of how easy it comes out (it's only 3 plugs, just plug the originals back in while you flash) and doing so will reduce the risk of it becoming a problem to zero.
