How do I get paint off my tires?

On my way home from work today I unsuspectingly drove through a can of fresh paint that must have fallen off a work truck.

Luckily I was able to pull over so it didnt fly all of my car, but all my tires look like this. I tried to preasure wash the point off as soon as I got home but it didnt really budge.

Is there anything I can do at this point?

3rd day I've had the car

Power slide or burnout. Problem solved.

Drive the car. It will come off pretty quickly. A burnout will take care of this faster

A good APC with a stiff brush will work. Clean those dirty lower panels while your at it.

Ah Ok thanks. I was able to get some off with dawn but I need to get a firm brush. Hoping most of it will come off with driving. Wheel wells are full of it too...

The wheel wells will prove to be more difficult to get right. I had something similar happen and I used a solvent to get it off the wheel well liners. In fact, carb cleaning spray from AutoZone worked great.

Please be careful with carb cleaner.. That can damage organic clear coats and paint, and some plastics.

A good pressure wash will take care of most issues with wheel wells and build up..

Looks like the front tires are depicted. I'd go find some turns with wide shoulders (because you'll understeer at first) and roast that paint off. It won't stand a chance with thousands of pounds of force pushing against it.

Rear tires? A few quick burnouts will get rid of it.

Maybe just paint the rest to match?

For the wheel wells go to Home Depot or Lowes paint department and get a box of Trisodium Phosphate (TSP).

Fill a bucket with 1 gallon of hot water and add 1/2 cup of TSP. Apply it with a stiff bristle wheel cleaning brush to the wheel well plastic. If you splash any of it on a painted surface wipe it off immediately (it may stain the paint). Let it sit for a few minutes rinse and repeat if necessary.

Now there may be a few spots that the TSP didn't remove on the plastic wheel well liner. For that use some critrius based paint stripper like CitriStrip

Carefully apply it to the stubborn spots on the plastic wheel well liner and let sit for 10-15 minutes. If you get some CitriStrip on any painted surface wipe it off immediately, it is not strong enough to remove automotive paint but it may stain if left on for a while.

Good Luck

I use laquer thinner on stubborn sap on paint not sure how it would work on the wells. Wear gloves if you try it.

You could also call your local body shop. Tires don't worry about them that will take care of itself, but wheel wells I am sure they could clean up quick. My mother once got yellow line paint from freshly painted dividers on her car and my guy took care of it no problem. If yours could do it quick for even $50 maybe worth doing that as opposed to buying stuff, spending your time doing it and dealing with the toxic fumes, etc.

Yeah this is a good point. The biggest hassle is getting to it so if someone could just lift the car it would help out.

True story, had a rental car in San Francisco 30 years ago and was driving to Carmel with my wife and best friend. On the way somehow a fresh can of paint was in the road and covered half the lower side of the drivers side. My buddy says let's try some paint remover (some pot may have been involved) so we stop at a store put it on with a rag and bam most of the paint on the lower half of the car peels off. I had a morning flight home so we decided to take the car back the night before and cover the sides with mud so they wouldn't notice. It was the only dirty car in Northern California but it worked and I never got a bill or a call about the damage.
