It would also appear that the LSD really helps the handling as all other heads-up track tests put the M3 well ahead of the C63 not equipped with it.

They were impressed by the C63's performance. The performance package helps the C63 to be on par in Hockenheim, what says something. They liked the exhaust note of the C63 more than the M3's (atleast under 6k rpm). In the end the M3 won by some points, though.

Yes.
BTW: It wasn't really RS6 vs M5, just an RS6 test with reference to the M5's results.

So a fair comparison will be M3 vs C63+performance package, wonder what the cost comparison will be with this spec?

That fuel economy is getting silly with the C63.

Road & Track and Car & Driver have measured 4.1s.

Here is the datasheet:

P.S. 0-60 is over rated - I know you agree

to be fair... 100 kph = 62.1371192 mph.

And Im looking at my Sep 2007 C&D and it states 4.4...was the M3 tested again recently?

agree with you about the 0-60 being over rated.

Most striking is the C63 0-200 @ 14 flat. Audi quotes 14.9 for the new RS6 avant!!!

I think the E90 was tested recently, see below:

Its the first time it been even between M3 and C63 on a track. Every other test done on a track, the M3 has been faster, in fact by several seconds in a couple of comparisons. I guess there is a first time for everything.

Too bad Mercedes had to make the suspension so stiff, that is the complain C63 has been getting in reviews.

M3 DCT is going to improve the laptime. Im looking forward for the N-ring test with M3 DCT.

yeah buts its heavier why wouldnt it - the rs6 wasnt built to beat the c63- its a massive 4 car, c63 is small in comparison.

IMO stiff suspension is better than soft

I like stiff suspension. But I still would MB to offer EDC for C63. Its better to decide the stiffness on your own.
Luckily BMW offer this for M3.
