335tti vs M3
OK a bit premature as the 335tti will not be out for a year or so but this model will bring the two versions a lot closer than ever before.
According to CAR magazine the 335tti will gain M3 brakes, 19" alloys and a sports suspension setup (probably closer to the stock M3 setup). The most interesting part of the spec will be the engine which will be putting out 355bhp accompanied with an increase it torque (no figures quoted). P.S. The article also showed artist impressions of the next 3 series in 2012, the front looks stunning as does the side profile, the rear looks remarkably like that of the new A4. Hopefully someone can scan the article so you all can see the pics. |

Speaking about M3 competitors:
Is the Dinan 335i (currently available), which I haven't heard anyone really talk about in comparison to the M, a better daily driver ... or will the to-be-released performance package 335i be the anticipated better overall car (maybe with a little help from Dinan)? |

Hmm, wonder why BMW would keep creeping up to the M3?

We don't need another 335i vs M3 debate on which is better, the whole point of this info was to enlighten the group to the fact that BMW are pushing ahead with the tti branding that will complement the M branding quite well in my opinion. Not everyone can afford an M3 and this 335tti with a possible new body kit and the bigger wheels will fill the gap nicely and should help retain customers looking for something that looks more exciting than the stock 335i, like the S5 among others.

Please, not another variation of the -35i, this forum really doesn't need that!

Since they are focused on weight reduction I wonder if one of these can be had in the US without a sunroof once they are released?

Oh, I forgot to include in my first comments that the new engine for the 2012 3 series tii will be a twin-charged four cylinder engine, probably a 2.0L~2.3L and will kick out 300hp in road trim and 400hp in race trim. This might not be as quick as an M3 but it's handling should be a revelation. |

I'm kinda waiting for such an engine in the 3 series. Any information when the 120Csi comes out?
Best regards, south
