Strange NCSExpert issue
Hi Guys,
I've been using NCSExpert for around 3 years with no issue. I did loads of coding to my current E90 with no issue then stopped. Around 6 months ago; I installed Rheingold as it's a much better diagnostic tool than INPA. At the time I noticed the NCSExpert would only read around 10-15 entries in a trace file. I thought nothing of it and left it. I've since installed a different copy of NCS; imported the latest Datens but I still get the same issue with only 10-15 entries in a trace file. This must be related to my Rheingold installation. Any thoughts? |

I would try to reinstall bmw standard tools, also update the daten again.
I haven't seen this before, but removing and reinstalling rheingold seems more difficult than ncsexpert. |

I'm tempted to set up a virtual machine running NCSExpert. |

I don't exactly understand what the issue is?
What version of NCSEXEPERT / Standard Tools you have? Ncsexpert is connecting to your car without any issues, then you read module and in TRC there are only about 15 lines? Is your latency cable set to 1?

That's right. I can connect and read modules but the trace files only have a limited number of entries. I'll check latency again; I'm away for 10 days so I'll check when I'm back. |

Interesting.
Never come across this but I'd guess at the following: 1. Hardware fault in cable 2. Cable drivers 3. NCSExpert profile corrupted? Try and reinstall / make your own profile. If you can, try and install a comport logger / sniffer so we can see if the information is actually being sent back by the car. |
