Alternate staggered setup for E90 335i xDrive?

My very first forum question: I have the opportunity to get a set of nice rims and tires at a good price, but the existing size of the tires are 225/40R19 and 255/35R19. Rim sizes are:

Front 19x8.5 ET38 Tire 225/40R19
Rear 19x9.5 ET42 Tire 255/35R19

I realize these are taller than E90's stock 17s and are also taller than the popular 235/35 and 265/30 setups many people have. Would this still fit my car? Or should I just keep the rims and change to 235/35 and 265/30 tires or even 275/30? Do I need spacers given the more positive offsets so I don't have fitting issues?

Thanks in advance.

99% sure that is the tire size that the xi "sport" models came with from the factory. Can't speak to your rims but the rolling diameter is fine.

I could be wrong but I thought the Xi sport packages had 18" tires. These are 19s.

Oh you're right. Disregard. I run 18" 235/40 - 265/35 on 8 and 8.5" M359's.

And yeah I think for 19" they should be 225/35 F and 255/30....aa they get bigger the sidewalk has to reduce.

Good luck!

Thanks. The fact that these tires are about 4% taller, would they cause any issues with xdrive if I use them anyway? I know the speedometer readings will be lower than actual but I also hear these cars all have their speedometer calibrated 5% faster than actual.

Anyone else have any thoughts? And what about ET38 and ET42? Would they fit my car?

Tires are the same diameter so no issues. Speedo should read right on. You will probably rub if you're lowered.

Car is stock not lowered so hopefully the extra half an inch in height won't be an issue.
