please help - how to remove side trims from windshield?

hi all

my windshield on my 2009 E90 was refitted to solve a mounting problem. When I got home I realised both of the side trims are fitting flush with the A-pillar, but there is a 2mm gap between the rubber gasket and the windshield glass the whole length (top to bottom). Previously it was tight against the glass.

Is it easy to pull off the trim to see what's wrong? I tried pulling one end of it but it sounded like it was going to crack something under.

Please help me DIY, as it's the weekend now and I'd like to not have to go all the way to the dealer next week again.

thank you
