340i 8AT and 6MT M-performance LSD

Anyone install one yet?

8AT = 33108659989
6MT = 33108659988

I have it on my M235i and love it.

If only it was a port installed option then I would pull the trigger in a heart beat on a 340!

From what I can tell it's compatible with the xDrives, which is pretty cool. Don't have one yet, but it's somewhere on the wish list. Would be down the road though.

+1, definitely something I would want to do for my car in the future.

I have it from day 1 and love. I can recommend an oil change after 1000km (bmw says it is not needed until 80.000km). My performance lsd was replaced with a good 7000km because of noise. The new one got the oil chamged today at based on the state of the oil I was told it was a good decision to do so!

How is this beneficial for everyday driving with someone who has a heavy foot and only hits the track 1-2 times a year? Trying to justify the cost for the differential + install.

My dealer had to wait several weeks for a special part to arrive to allow them to install the diff as it was different to previous ones apparently. Didn't take them long to do once they had the part, but the part itself was almost as expensive as the diff iirc.

If you track it, it's beneficial. I have no intentions on tracking mine and it's very much a more fun car for having it.

Any noises or gear whine since the install? I know my Mustang I traded in to get my 340i had some gear whine from the LSD.

Your xDrive so it won't fit anyway, I tried to have this installed two weeks ago but no go. xDrives use different rear axles than RWD, a fact my dealer didn't know until he had my car disassembled.

LSD is a very good tune especially for RWD.
However I went for the Quaife ATB instead of the M Performance LSD.

A good option especially if you are in Germany. (You should be able to find a close dealer)

It's just like getting another car.
Understeering? Gone!
