B58 F30 340xi - Available Chargepipes?

Hello Friends!

Any news on available chargepipes for the b58 f30s?
I would like to get one for my car soon.

Also, any recommendations for intake?

Thanks!
Mike

BMS intake purley for the beautiful sound.

I don't think I've seen any charge pipes but I could be wrong.

Main mods available are downpipes, bms intake and jb4 (meth/water kit as well).

Can't wait for chargepipes to be available for the B58 F30s.
I would love the extra security.

Yea thought about the BMS intake but I did read a few posts mentioning a CEL after installation and how its recommended only with JB4.
Or is BMS intake okay without the JB4?

The few people that mentioned the CEL were the N55 F30 owners.

Any insight is helpful!

Thanks

I'm the perfect person for you than!

I installed the bms intake at 600 miles and I'm now at 3600 no CEL. I've taken it off/on twice so far (so installed it total of three times). Never got one CEL and you wont. It's almost nothing but a filter. DownPipe Will give you CEL which is why i haven't done it. I'm going to put jb4 + intake only cause they can be removed quick Inbetween visits to dealers.

Can you send me the posts/threads about the CEL? You might have been looking at the n55 motor/intake setup.

We don't have an intercooler on the B58 so there might be no use for a charge pipe I would assume ?

Yea, I was thinking the same thing so I wanted to stay away from the DP as of now.

I'll eventually go with the JB4 and run map 1 without the DP. This wouldn't lead to a CEL, right?
Meantime, wanted to do something to go with my catback exhaust.
Intake upgrade seemed harmless until I did some research. B58 owners has not complained about a CEL yet, but the N55 F30 owners did run into this problem.

Code that came up--
P00BD-Mass or Volume Air Flow "A" Circuit Range/Performance - Air Flow Too High

http://f30.bimmerpost.com/forums/sho...d.php?t=950230

Above is the link to thread for CEL.

Thanks

Are you sure about that?

I think we do, just not easily accessible. I believe it is in the intake manifold?

Please correct me if I'm wrong.

Just get a big Daddy Mini Cat. Idk why nobody ever thinks to use that on a Catless downpipe

Good point, I've seen these around.
Million dollar question!.. Do they work efficiently?

If I eventually do get a JB4, won't that delete any CEL from the DP? So this makes the big daddy pointless, no?
Let's say I get a JB4, run map 1 without an DP, would that be okay too?

I'm just bringing up the issue of an intake leading to a CEL. This is not proven for the B58s, just speculating based on N55 experiences!

It can eliminate the CEL but the real reason I am getting one is so that it doesn't throw a CEL in the first place. If you clear the code with the JB4 you will still fail the readiness test when they plug the car in via OBD. You will need to complete the engine cycle on the car with the JB4 in map 0. With the mini cat you can not worry about clearing the code and just set the JB4 on map 0 and get it tested. It's a small price to pay. $50 or have the downpipe uninstalled and then re installed

Oh I see. That makes a lot of sense, thanks for explaining!
$50 to reassure that no codes will come up, and saves a lot of time if you plan on uninstalling and such.

--Side question: Can I run JB4 in map 1 without a DP? Would this create a CEL or any unwanted codes?

Thanks,

The factory B58 chargepipe is solid as far as I know (but its early). No need to replace that for now. I've never heard of a CEL with the B58 intake. Maybe you confused it with the F30 intake.

Thanks,
Yeah you can run map 1 without a downpipe. I have never had my jb4 throw any codes at all. I even run map 5 daily and map 7 with e85 without any issues

I do have a few videos on my camera. Just didn't have the time to edit and upload it as I had it done last weekend. I was planning on uploading it this weekend, but if I have time before the weekend I will gladly post it!

Thanks for noticing I love the exhaust ahaha
