ZB 9213309 is probably going to be difficult to locate. It will be in a SP daten prior to V41...

Why not just flash it with a later ZB number like 9334611?

Thanks for the comment.

Yes if possible. But unable to flash it by winkfp because no zb# (9213309) is registered in my pc as I have only the latest version of sp-daten file (v59.2). Is it possible to flash it by a different zb# like one mentioned above?

I tried to flash it by winkfp many times but sw threw error like "assambly id not found" and stopped.

If you know how to force flashing with unmatched Zb number it is greatly appreciated.

59.3 is the latest at the moment, but nevertheless, 59.2 will also contain ZB number 9334611 which is the latest ZB number for that module.

You can flash any ZB number with WinKFP expert mode.

I see...that is great. Then I will try to change zb# from original to flash it using expert instead. I found # of threads that told changes by using comfort mode. I do not know if I can find proper instruction from some other threads. It would be great if you could tell me tips that can help me to do without any mistake.

Thank you for your help indeed!

If you intend to flash the latest firmware, you do not need to use expert mode.

Furthermore, if you have never flashed a module before with WinKFP, you really should not attempt to use expert mode. Do your homework first.

When flashing any module, your car should be attached to a microprocessor controlled charger that adapts to the cars current draw and supplies constant, clean power. (i.e. Don Schumacher Racing INC-700A) Refer to the OSS applications documentation (page 8) for BMW Group recommended charger specifications:

thankyou for your recommendation.

i have done a couple of flashing by myself like NFRM, KLIMA, FAS and so on. those were successfully upgraded without errors. However when i tried to do it in comfort mode for ZBE2 (controller) i got an error message from winkfp as mentioned earlier (Assembly identification number not found in the files determined by "xxkfconf.da2"). currently i am not able to pursue flashing with it because of the error from the tool.

then i thought that it could be done by expert mode when i got the message from you. so i tried to understand how should i go with expert mode to make this happen.

your support is highly appreciated.

thanks//

If you find an older SP daten containing ZB 9213309, you can flash it with expert mode.

If you want to upgrade the firmware to ZB 9334611, you do not need to use expert mode. Your SP daten (59.2) should contain ZB 9334611 and it can be flashed with comfort mode.

hello,

ultimately, i was able to flash zbe2 module by forcing to overwrite old zb# (9213309) with one listed in winkfp as you suggested. zb 9334611 was not recognized but 9205177 was accepted by tool together with my vin#. Probably the contoller i have used is quite old for the latest zb#.

anyway everything is fine and also able to list all modules with right vin# the car has got on the inpa display.

thakyou indeed your help till i have resolved the issue.
