Brian Jessel BMW in Vancouver, BC Canada?
I placed an order @ Brian Jessel BMW about 4 months ago and my SA just called me about a $6,000 raise on the car.
where did this 6,000 come from? 1) $2000 from the price increase - nation-wide (already known) 2) $2000 freight & PDI increase ( Not only on M2, but also M3, M4, etc..) ??? 3) $2000 special order fee (???????) #1 was already heard of, and I have absolutely no problem with. #2 & #3 is complete robbery and unheard of. Anyone else who placed an order with Brian Jessel, or any other dealerships around Vancouver Chime in? |

I wouldn't consider #2 a 'raise' in price so I would say the dealer is just being greedy. They should be added to the 'naughty list' with the rest of them.
Of course, you shoukd ask for clarification. Did you not ask when he called? |

when he broke down the 6,000 dollars, i was shocked by the 2,000 dollars extra on freight and pdi because i thought that was a set fee that could not be altered whatsoever, but i found out it was just their dealers (ON ALL VEHICLES)
I'm guessing that they couldn't handle their 50+ people waitlist so they are implementing some method that will induce people to drop off the waitlist. |

Re the list, what's there to manage? Just take deposits and be done with it. They are not trying to trim their list...this greasy dealership is just taking full advantage of this cars' demand. Plain and simple. If u don't pay the premium some else likely will. Not much you can do unless you had a signed sales contract. |

Agree with you that #2 and #3 are just plain greed. Freight costs are not going up in any way. Put them on the naughty list (if they were not there already).
Even shadier that they are retroactively pushing this increase on to people with existing orders. I went to my dealer to get an updated quote (with the MY2017 MSRP) a few months ago. No other increases were there. |

The msrp may be set by Bmw Canada and beyond the dealers control. This is not the case with the freight and pdi charge and this so called special delivery fee. it is unacceptable to jump up the price on those items months after accepting this person's deposit. |

But we need more info: OP did you have a deposit down and allocation assigned? Or just word of mouth from dealer that it was yours? |

Can't stand this dealership and their sales people. Not surprised by this kind of BS.

Then run away far and run fast. Why would you buy from a dealer that pads EACH AND EVERY SALE by 2k? Years ago I was comparing prices on Hondas at two Midwest dealer chains and an independent. The independent dealer said " I can beat chain store A any day of the week. ". When I asked why , he told me that the chain store added $500 " dealer prep" to every vehicle on the lot ! I went back and looked closer at the delivery tags and he was correct ! You can rest assured I never bought a vehicle from " chain store A" ! http://www.thetruthaboutcars.com/200...me-bogus-fees/ Life's too short to work with a fucked up dealer. |

My question to the OP still stands and would be good to get an answer: When you say you placed an order, what did that mean? Did you put down a deposit? Did you get anything in writing? Etc. Let's get the full picture. Won't help with a shady dealer like this, but it's important info. |

I placed a deposit with the same dealership at around the same time as the OP. Have not heard anything from dealer about a price increase. I will not be happy if I get that call. It is safe to say that I will be strongly opposing any change to the quoted costs.

Same here. I've heard terrible things about BJ and his dealership. That's why I've always stayed clear of them. There are 4 other dealerships you can go to here in and around Vancouver, so why them? My dealership has never charged me any more than agreed on the last 5 cars we've bought from them.
