Disabled brake pedal during start, now double press in order to start car?
Hi guys,
After a bit of Google research, I finally figured out how I could start the car without having to press the brake pedal. This works perfectly, however now it's a double tap to start.. First tap of the start button turns on the accessories (NAV, etc) second tap starts the car. Is there a way to code this so it's a single tap to start and turn on the accessories? Or am I stuck with it the way it is? Coded out the brake pedal requirement in CAS setting both of the following to nicht_aktiv ANLASSSPERRE_BLS STARTABBRUCH_BREMSE Any help would be appreciated!

I had the same issue using the Carly App, coded out needing to press the brake to start and then you need to double press to start, also disabled the long press to shut everything off and needed to double press to shut off all power, I put it back, was very annoying, not sure if there is a way around it.

I can live with the shutdown, I leave everything on (accessories) when I get out of the car anyhow, once locked it all turns off. The double tap on start is a bit annoying, more annoying then having to press the brake pedal? I guess we'll see.. I'll live with it for a few weeks and if I have to revert back to stock.
Appreciate your input!

No, because now if you didn't double tap, there would be no way to access the accessories mode (ie. Position 1 where the motor doesn't fire but the electronics come on). This should be obvious.
Also, how lazy are you guys that not only do you refuse to push the brake pedal, now you don't want to double tap a button with your finger? All these steps must be sooooo exhausting. /s

It's got nothing to do with laziness, more to do with convenience. After driving a manual for the past almost 30 years, not having to press anything in order to start the car is a treat.
As for your educated guess on accessory mode, there's no reason why there couldn't be a single momentary press for accessories and a long single press to start the engine. BMW puts delays pretty much everywhere in this car, it's not a stretch of the imagination to think this might be possible.
