Britain's Best Large Cars

According to the latest Which magazine:
  1. BMW 3 Series (2012-) 80%
  2. Audi A4 (2015-) 78%
  3. BMW 3 Series GT (2013-) 77%
  4. Lexus IS (2013-) 77%
  5. Toyota Prius Plug-In Hybrid (2012-) 77%
  6. Toyota Avensis (2009-) 77%
  7. Ford Mondeo Hybrid (2014-) 75%
  8. BMW 4 Series Coupe (2013-) 75%
  9. Mazda 6 (2013-) 75%
  10. Mercedes-Benz C Class (2014-) 74%

The 3 Series was commended for its rewarding driving experience, comfort, efficiency and choice of high performance engines. Negatives were that it's expensive and less practical than some rivals. They also picked on the 328i's high CO emissions.

Anyway, good to see the F30 come out top

Interesting survey and also interesting that they class F3x (and some others in there) as 'large'. Presume a 5-series must be 'huge' and a 7 is a VLCC :-)

Sorry but Which magazine reckons the 3 Series is 'Large'

The 5 Series came into the 'Luxury' cars category:
  1. BMW 5 Series (2010-) 77%
  2. BMW 5 Series GT (2009-) 77%
  3. Audi A7 Sportback (2010-) 76%
  4. Lexus GS (2012-) 75%
  5. etc.
Oddly they also put the 6 Series GC (6th), 6 Series (10th) and M5 (11th) in the Luxury category too.

Medium cars were:
  1. VW Golf (2014-) 82%
  2. Mercedes-Benz B Class Electric (2015-) 79%
  3. Toyota Auris Hybrid (2013-) 78%
  4. VW Golf GTE (2015-) 78%
  5. BMW 1 Series (2011-) 78%
  6. etc.

Small cars were Toyota Yaris (2012-) 84% then Fabia, Mazda 2, Honda Jazz, Renault Zoe and stuff like that.

The Porsche 911 Carrera Cabriolet (2012-) 70% put in an appearance in the 'Convertibles' section, behind the Z4 (2009-) winner, BMW 6 Series, Audi A3 Cabriolet and Mercedes-Benz E Class Cabriolet. The M4 came top in the 'Sports Cars' section with 78%, followed by the Audi TT then the Porsche 911 (2012-) with 72%. Bentley & Rollers didn't get a look-in.

They also had categories for MPVs with the 2 Series Active Tourer coming 2nd, Estate Cars with the 3 Series Touring (78%) taking 2nd place to the VW Passat Estate (80%), Large SUVs where the X5 came 5th on 79% but not far behind 1st place Audi Q7 with just 81%. Compact SUVs had the Lexus NX 1st ahead of the X1 2nd and X3 3rd.

The only other category was 'City' cars where the i3 didn't make the top 10.
