DAB Radio

Evening all,

When starting the car, my radio plays as normal and then skips back and repeats about 2 seconds, does anyone else have this problem?

Is it switching from FM to Dab on startup ? Just that DAB has a delay of around a second when you jump from FM to Dab where I am

I then find the quality is a lot better and volume is slightly increased as well when it switches to DAB.

These cars are supposed to revert to FM if the DAB reception is too weak, but I've never seen it happen!

Mine does this but curiously when on the move if it drops to FM it doesn't jump forward again. It's almost as if the system is recording the FM signal in the background on a delay. Are these Germans that clever?

You need to go through a tunnel as FM seems to last longer into them. The one under the runway at Leeds Bradford airport will do it. Alternatively drive somewhere really remote like the top of the Scotch Corner to Penrith road, the Highlands or Norfolk.

Lol, I drive around Norfolk every day, but it still doesn't happen!

If you picked DAB, how do you know when it reverts to FM? Sometimes goes off briefly but never sure if it's retuning or moving to FM.

On the idrive when your listening to a DAB radio, there is a logo saying so. That's what I've found. To be honest it only Capital, Heart and a few others in Berkshire that appear DAB. Absolute and Kiss aren't.

The letters FM appear at the right hand side of the red strip which highlights the station you're on.
