Debadging - thoughts...

Hi all,
We have all seen the ongoing debates around what is the best look for the rear of the F30.

I for one agree that the X-drive badge is a shocker and so must be left in the Halfrauds store where it belongs and no where near a BMW. I followed home a beautiful 435 yesterday, with some fancy beige paintwork, but couldn't help notice the X-drive cartoon on the rear, spoiling the look.

Some have argued that only the full clean look with no badges is the way forward. I can understand that this would make polishing and cleaning a little easier so why not.
The introduction in the F30 LCI of twin exhausts with the "lowly" 320d is perhaps one reason not to go there (If you have a bigger one so to speak...), but this is perhaps just snobbery and has no place within a premium marque.

Anyway, I decided the clean look was for me so I took the plunge and after giving the car a thorough wash and a little polish, I debadged it.
What do you all think?

I've always been a fan of debadged cars, not for cleaning but because I've always thought the model designation on a car was about willy waving more than anything else. I've got a 335d, I don't care if people think it's a 320d because it has no badge and similar twin exhausts.

My 335d is debadged but the 330e isn't. I could have debadged the 330e but not the edrive badges on the c-pillars apparently so I thought that it would be weird to have those badges and not the actual model designation.

Without is definitely easier for cleaning and detailing but sometimes I now think the rear looks a bit bare without the model designation.

So I say that you just go with what you like, and as long as you're not making the car out to be something it isn't then all fine.

Or now that all diesels have dual outlets put on a bigger engine badge - buy a 318d bang on a 335d badge and an xdrive badge - instant kudos.
