Removing front seats?

As per title has anyone ever attempted to remove either front seats, or both, and if so can they offer any handy tips, maybe a guide etc

I have tried to Google it and search forum but nothing jumping out, quite a bit about E46 and some E90 but certainly nothing for F30.

Especially concerned about seat belt and the pre-tensioner

Thanks in advance 😀

Pretty sure it's same as E90, 4 T50 torx bolts.

Yep the torx bolts bit looks straightforward enough but it's anything specific like avoiding airbag error code and seat belt pre-tensioner etc

Some of the guides for the older models mention them specifically which makes me wonder if it really is that easy?

I think as a general rule you need to ensure the ignition stays off whilst they're unplugged. If it gets switched on it will register the error code.

Surely you'd just pull the battery leads off terminals whilst working on it.

Pull battery,4 torx seat bolts, flip cover off side and unbolt seatbelt.Flip seat back and disconnect yellow multiplug.Remove seat. Also make sure the seat is centralised in the runners so they don't catch door trim on way out.

Cheers for all the replys and tips, good one re centralising on the runners. This I guess is best done as a two man job?

Anything specific about the pre-tensioner or not to worry?

Thanks all 😀

Just purely out of curiosity why do you need to remove the front seats?

Why were you taking the seats out of a brand new M3?
