New m3 f80

Really getting drawn into swapping the 335d for a m3

Been offered 36k for mine at Williams BMW which is 1k more than I paid for it 3 months ago

My only problem is I do around 20k a year business miles, is this going to devalue a M3 a lot quicker in say 2yrs than it would a 2yr 335d with 40k on the clock

Yes realistically, but YOLO, I had same mileage didn't really matter. How are you trading in +1k!

The 36k is just what the salesman quoted me for my spec with 2,000 miles on the clock

I haven't looked how to finance the m3 yet the 335d is on HP

It does sound as if he has put some of the M3 discount in to the part ex price, to make it more attractive. I assume he wouldn't offer you anything like £36k in a stand alone deal. If he does then bite his hand off!

Coast to Coast have £7,200 off the basic spec, but I think you can do a lot better than that, which is probably why so many have switched recently.

I think around the 53/54 mark for a CP is achievable.

I will be doing 20k pa in my M4. You only live once like Chris said.

You should aim for at least 18% off the M but i wonder how much discount from the M3 he's ploughed into your 335d offer to make it more appealing sounding.

Id ask him straight out what you need and ask if hes using M3 discount to sweeten your 335d.

I guess he's using the discount, if mines only lost 1k then I'd swap tomorrow.

Are business miles reimbursed? If so, who cares, you're getting to enjoy an M3 for a whole 20k miles a year AND getting some money towards it.

Watch out how they dress the deal.

You should be able to get £10k ish min off of an M3 and if they are quoting you full retail for the M3 and giving you £5k over book for your px you are effectively being greased up for some botty action.

Look at the overall deal is my advice.

Your 335d is awesome, don't make me even more jealous with an M3!

I will be wanting full discount first before my part ex value is taken off the deal

M3/4 deals are starting to firm up. All 2016 allocation has been allocated to the dealers and they are unable to swap models. Unless further allocation frees up towards the end of the year, deals are going to firm up IMO. Or you'll have to take a particular spec a given dealer has. If you're thinking of doing something, I'd do it sooner rather than later

Agreed. if your looking to place an order this year my view is that deals will become less appealing. it's already moved to 5.9% Apr and with less build slots available this year there will be less room to negotiate the really good deals.

Like I mentioned previously 18% min discount is what I'd target and then introduce the part ex of your 335d into the equation. if your still getting offered £36k then it's happy days all round.

Agree with this. I wouldn't hold out for £10k off a lightly specd car as I don't t hunk it's going to happen? The big discounts have gone I'm afraid. Early this Qtr might otherwise a great time to approach an M3 deal but why not!

IMO BMW managed the M4 deals earlier in the year poorly, it was supposed to help disappointed potential M2 buyers. They caused the issue by giving a chunk of support, this in addition to Deposit allowances and a dealer network keen to hit targets, this enabled the TRL deals. I can't see these happening again. M3's already have less support than M4's again to 'soften' the M2 issue. Add in the delay in cars spec'd with individual paint and we find deals hardening. Well done to the guys that jumped on the TRL deal.

I think BMW manage it all very well ie how they introduce offers, remove them and manage stock of both parts and cars. The TRL deals were great but I'm sure there was a strategy to it all eg a few months of offers to run out parts before MY 2017 kicked in.

Likewise early this year there was a glut of individual colour M3s pre-registered that just didn't make sense at the price they were up for, but they're almost all gone now.

I also think there will be more great offers in a quarter or two. There's no such thing as it will never happen again. You can still get 10% off without even asking.
