The ECU is integrated in the EPS box so definitely not possible. The M2's entire front and rear axles are borrowed directly from the M3/M4 and has barely anything in common withe the regular 2 series.

RE: Fixing the 2 Series steering
Quote:
I took a quick look at the steering rack, it has the same general configuration of electric motor on rack, and the sensors in the steering column are shared across many platforms. But note that the part number for the rack is shared only with M cars. That rack might significantly change the feel of the steering, and most certainly can be made to work with our cars. I doubt very much that the controller would be able to tell the difference in terms of what rack it is directing. I'm trying to research options to remedy what I feel is really, really bad steering on an other wise very nice car. The part number for the M2 for the EPS control module covers a multitude of vehicles: Part 61317468008 was found on the following vehicles: 1' F20 (07/2010 — 02/2015) 1' F20 LCI (05/2014 — 06/2016) 1' F21 (07/2010 — 02/2015) 1' F21 LCI (05/2014 — 05/2016) 2' F22 (10/2012 — 05/2016) 2' F87 M2 (11/2014 — 05/2016) 2' F23 (03/2014 — 05/2016) 3' F30 (02/2011 — 01/2016) 3' F30 LCI (09/2014 — 06/2016) 3' F31 (07/2011 — 07/2015) 3' F31 LCI (09/2014 — 05/2016) 3' F34 GT (07/2012 — 06/2016) 3' F34 GT LCI (09/2015 — 04/2016) 3' F35 (06/2011 — 08/2015) 3' F35 LCI (01/2015 — 05/2016) 4' F32 (11/2012 — 05/2016) 4' F33 (03/2013 — 05/2016) 4' F36 (07/2013 — 05/2016) I rather suspect that the module can be flash coded to reflect the particular tune that the car has. This might imply that if "WE" can break down the coding obstacles, we could in fact change the feel of the steering. Fix it completely? No, I doubt we will be able to capture the feel of a hydraulic PS rack on an old fashioned belt driven PS pump. Let us know what you've learned differently?
