Changing steering wheel

Hey guys!

Hope some can advise, but I am going to be changing my "Modern Line" steering wheel for the M Sport one. Does anyone know if anything needs changing/coding regarding the different airbag? just I seem to recall reading something a while back about the car flagging up the airbag as being incorrect version?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

Thank you in advance.

Garage List
I swapped my M-Sport wheel for another one with paddles fitted. It was very straightforward but of course I kept the same airbag so can't advise on that.

I didn't realise anyone bought a Modern line in this country, I have never seen one, either in person or on the forums!

I don't think there are many. I've only seen a handful in the time I've had the car. The interior is not to everyone's taste but I like it. It was an early demonstrator that had only sat in the showroom and had a decent spec (415 turbines, Adaptive Xenon's, High beam Assist, Elec/heated sport seats, Extended storage, Pro media with Enhanced Bluetooth, Internet, Apps, Advanced Parking, Auto fold/dipping mirrors, Ambient lighting, Variable steering, 8AT). Got a decent trade in for my Jag so easy decision. Best of all it looks so nice in Sapphire Black

Have you got any pics of it, especially inside? Nice to see something different.

I have an M4 Steering wheel which meant I had to change the back cowling of the steering wheel, you might have to change this part too but as not seen your wheel am not 100%

Modern for me as well.
Nobody wanted them so a great AUC buy.
Mine also has £9k of extras and I bought it with 2,700 miles, £13K under list 8 months old.
I must add that in 2012 not only didn't people want the modern, they also didn't want a petrol engined car. Most buyers wanted diesel.

That was something the sales advisor said about mine. People walked away when they saw it was a Petrol.

Here are some pics of mine- agree i really liked the black saphire/oyster combo, but i swapped the original interior trim for m-performance.... The colour split on the dash is different though- i believe now they typically have 1/2 black, 1/2 your colour choice... But on the original Moderns you had oyster color below and above trim....

And i also looked into swapping wheel- the m-performance steering wheel II swap (tiny airbag version) requires additional parts to attach to steering column, but do-able. M performance steering wheel I is more straight forward

Is it the modern line that has the open grain wood trim? If so, I would potentially want to buy them if anyone considers swapping theirs out.
