What's going on? I've been a long time follower/reader of Bimmerpost and am pleased to say I'm finally part of the community.
For the past 7 years, I've driven a Lightly modded Audi A4 B6. I've been looking for a 2 series for quite some time and finally pulled the trigger. Last Wednesday I found a 2015 M235i with 1,700 miles, one owner, no accidents, etc. after putting down a deposit, I sold my Audi the following day and booked a one way flight to the Toy Barn in Dublin, Ohio. I purchased the car yesterday and drove back to Alexandria (great drive btw) yesterday afternoon. I'm blown away by the response, performance and overall experience of the car. I'd like to say I don't have any immediate plans to mod the car other than kidney grills, tint, etc. but I'm sure I'll get the bug sometime down the road. Any meet ups in the area? *Posted the same in the regional forum but doesn't seem extremely active. |

I think your region of the bmwcca had a tech session in fairfax yesterday and an upcoming event in Annapolis - that's if your a club member - not sure worth joining just for the tech sessions only.
Great color btw. Last edited by overcoil; 07-10-2016 at 12:38 PM.. |

Also, any vendor you would suggest over another? I've seen some grills online/ebay for $60 all the way up to ECS/Modbargins/etc. to $120. |

Hrushka, See pic. I could have sworn I got the grills from RW Carbon (they are plastic), but I do not see them on their website now. I paid the upper end of what you have noted. If you do the grills and go with new wheels, you might want to stay away from a silver mesh style so nobody mistakes you for me...for your own good! LOL. I also got the windows tinted. I kind of wish I had gone darker but I was complying with the law, something others clearly haven't based on what I see on the road daily. BTW, you'll see I have deleted the required front license plate. Guess I'm not so law-abiding after all. : )

Batman33 Thanks for the picture and direction. That grill does look good, I'll do some more research and pull the trigger soon. How did you install the grills? Unbolt the bumper screws in the hood and reach down to unclip? My goal is to avoid tickets with this car (knock on wood), I went the dark tint, front license delete on Audi and a constant pain more than anything. |
