Best replacement front grilles?
Hi guys, couple of questions as I think most seem to have got black grilles already!
I have an incoming mineral grey f31. Should I go gloss or matte? Double rib? Will I have any trouble fitting even with big hands? Any links to the best ones? (Not just random eBay ones, unless they truly are all the same quality). Thanks. Last edited by JohnRob2016; 07-09-2016 at 04:06 AM.. |

order the grilles from your supplying dealer but tell them not to fit and you never know - you may find them fitted to your car on collection
I personally like the gloss black grilles with a single slat, I'm not a fan of the double ribbed m style grilles unless it's an m car. bit like sticking an m badge on the back IMO

I got this one
Interessanten Artikel bei eBay ansehen http://www.ebay.de/itm/291731665430 also on a mineral grey F30 I can post some pics on Monday. they are matte, but can be clear coated if you want the gloss look. I was really surprised from the quality, because they're so cheap. it's a pain in the ass to get the first kidney off. I taught I gonna break the front cover, the way I have to bent it. But when the first grill is out, it only takes 1 more minute to get the other off. Andy |

Had mine fitted at my local garage, they just seemed to wiggle them out with force. I didn't want to do it to save breaking the OEM ones.

I bought genuine single slat ones off eBay.
I had to undo the top of the bumper and it was quite fiddly trying not to damage the OEM grills getting them out. Fitting the new ones is a doddle though. When you put the screws back in the at the top just line up with the slight indents in the plastic that are already there and it should be OK. Dave.

I bought these from the U.S.
Wanted carbon look and couldn't find any in U.K./Europe. Superb quality and fit but realistically not worth 3 times the price of others I've seen from Ebay.

I have big hands, I'm 6 foot 4, but was able to get them in there and unclip the clips. Once you have one side off the other is much easier. I'm good at working my finger magic in tight spaces.

Sorry for late reply JustChris
Heres the link for the ones I bought, exchange rate doesn't help and you will get stung for import duty as well. https://bimmian.com/Accessories-for-...terior/Grills/
