I have noticed the turbo sound has become louder of late especially in 2nd. Sounds pretty good to be honest, just so long it's not a sign of it on the way out!

Not as loud as it was on my old leon cupra r many moons ago but makes a nice sound with the growling, popping and banging!
Anyone else notice theirs getting louder over time?

Spookily I nearly posted exactly this earlier this week. I have done 4500 miles and in the last few weeks, it's got a lot louder. Mine's the same, really prominent in 2nd gear, particularly when I pull away from one junction that is uphill, so more load on the engine, I guess.

I'm in two minds about the noise, sometimes I quite like it, other times it seems a bit out of keeping with the rest of the engine note. I am keeping an ear out for it now though.

You guys certain it's turbo whistle, not gearbox? I've got nearly 10K on mine now and no turbo whistle, but it's had a new 'box.
