Estoril blue becoming boring and repetitive for anyone else?
Dont get me wrong, I LOVE the colour BUT......
I do alot of driving in my work van, up to 500-600 miles a week. I see so many Estoril blue 1 and 3 series that I don't even look any more. I have seen very few Black, Mineral Grey and Tanzanite Blue F30's. And when I do I mist admit with the right package they are such a head turner. This might be something to do with Portsmouth in general being a seaside town lol, but either way Estoril blue is everywhere!! |

To save people time I have listed the following defensive cliches. Rather than write it out on full, state your answer as 1,3 for example
1. Where I live there are no other Estoril Blue cars within 500 miles. 2. Estoril is such a striking colour that it seems far more common that it really is. How often would you notice a black or grey car? 3. Seventeen people have commented on what a nice colour my Estoril car is within the last week. 4. I was told by my salesman that if I bought Estoril, when it comes to part exchange, such is the demand that he would offer me at least the new price for my car, unlike those common greys and blacks... 5. Pi$$ off! Hope that helps... |

As someone who sold their EB car earlier this year, I fully agree with the OP, EB is so 2013. Every time I see one, I wonder whatever possessed me to buy it in the first place.
However, when it comes round to 2019 and I'm selling my Carbon Black car, I'm sure I will fell exactly the same about CB. I think you just get bored after a while and your tastes change, that's all. |

Without wanting to offend. I've always thought it a great hatch back cloour be not suited to the large models.

You are slightly missing the point These 'Estoril is such a common colour' threads have been done to death on this forum, so I just thought I would save others the time by listing the old cliches. Are you German?

Whats not common about BMWs these days though. Just the 'defacto' quality safe/semi sporty option nowadays. Need to go upwards for special really, sign of the, fortunate, times we live in. EB2 only looks bland now on cars..... because the cars themselves are so bland. Here's how it goes. SE - No Comment MSport/Sport Line - Pay more money but guess what it still isn't even BMWs vision of perfect proportion or sportiness = shell out for MPerf goodies. M car - Guess what, even an M car with M tax on it isn't even still BMW vision of the perfect looking 3 or 4 series. That's right = shell out more for M MPerf goodies. Great for profit but a bit of joke really. Cars are starting to look ordinary without at least a few on the goodies added.

Had an M3 in MW. Would have it again in a heartbeat. Gutted the 4 series wasn't allowed it.

Yep, exactly why I cancelled my order for a standard new M3 and bought one with carbon bits in an individual colour instead. |

Complex cool colour though and I am joking, nice colour indeed.

Bored with EBII? Nope.
Think it's all down to whether you're the sort of person who gets bored with a colour or not, plus where you live, i.e. how many other cars of that colour you see. Down this way practically every 3 Series you see is either black, white or grey. EBII is in the minority, and MR is even more scare. As to grey for example, while I appreciate others like it, I never could bring myself to buy a car that's the same colour as the road I'm driving on

It does seem to be a more common sight on the roads now than when I first got it but not significantly so I don't think. I drove past a large Mercedes dealer the other day and there must have Ben 30 cars lined up outside, 80% of which seemed to be either black or shades of grey, made me glad I have a brighter colour. Next time I would quite like Melbourne red, that doesn't seem to be very common at all. For some unknown reason however I don't think you can spec it on a 4GC. |
