A newbie.. Yet another 340i!
Hi everyone!
Been a member/lurker here since my order back in March and I was waiting for my car to arrive before my first post! In them 3 months this forum has kept me sane, taught me a few things and given me some spec envy (HUD especially!). Anyways, a quick background, my dads always been into his 3 series except for one time he got a Rover and a Previa (mid life crisis I think). It was his charcoal grey E30 that started my love affair with cars and BMW's as a young lad. It was just such a great looking car. A dark racing green E36 followed. And I learnt to drive in it. Despite being underpowered at just a 316i, still loved the drive and gearbox. A VW Polo was my first car before I got myself a E46 coupe. I LOVED the look of that car and the speakers I installed cost almost as much as the car ( I was 19 at the time!). After a few years it started developing some ECU faults and it was time for a new car. A VW Scirocco. White with the black alloys, pan roof, what a looker and it flew! Even got me in trouble with an unmarked Beemer on the motorway. Then the biggest mistake of my life. Once 3 years passed on my VW PCP, I should've just bought the car as it gave me NO problems in that time. However I decided I wanted to be grown up and maybe get a diesel saloon as I was doing more motorway driving. Step forward the 2013 C Class 250D AMG Line. I got such a good deal on it because the new shape was coming out the following Spring. Hated it, no soul, no fun to drive. Ok it looks ok and has Adaptive Xenons, heated seats etc but it's just SO BORING. And when I see/occasionally drive my dad's EB F30 320d I realise just what I'm missing. So then finally last March I decided I'd VT this Merc in July and take the plunge on a 340i due to the deals available. Sorry for the essay, pics will follow shortly. BMW 340i M Sport 6MT Melbourne Red Black Dakota Leather with Oyster Highlight M Sport+ package Adaptive M Sport Suspension Interior Comfort Pack Media Package Pro Sunroof Heated rear seats White Ash Grain interior Dealer also sorted out a deal to get the M performance body parts on which should finish off the Melbourne Red. |

So what do you think of your new car?
Nice to see a Melbourne Red saloon . Do you have any pics of the interior, especially with the white ash grain trim? |

Looks great in Red, was my second choice after blue. Good to see another manual box 340i here. They are multiplying recently!
Please let us have your driving impression after you have a few more miles on it. |

So far so good! The manual is still a bit notchy which I guess will improve with age. The drive and noise in sport mode is special. And so far the MPG was much better than expected. Saying that I'm taking it fairly easy whilst it runs in still

That really works in red and black!
Manual box also, double de-clutching will be a pleasure with that engine noise... Enjoy!
