Italy trip
Just got a back from a trip to Tuscany and the 330D was just perfect. Covered the autoroute miles with ease but a couple of Alpine passes really showed what the car was capable of. The 8AT with all the torque was just perfect for that.
Came back through Germany but limited chances to really push on as most of the autobahn was either too busy or a lot of road works 😬. Averaged 47 mpg over 2600 miles mostly travelling at the speed limits. Only downside was I should have specified electric seats as readjusting after my wife's stints was a real pain! |

Sounds like you had a great trip. I'm regularly driving on the continent and my 430d is just a mile muncher. The best time to try Germany is at night. There's a couple of lovely straights that you can really open up the engine on.

The A4 autobahn between Koln and Aachen early(ish) on a Saturday morning worked for me. :-)
Just short of 140mph and rock solid: now wandering, nothing untoward. Very re-assuring |
