How to disable the nanny-light?
The nanny-light - a blue symbol that appears in the BPD and HUD warning you of an approaching hazard, e.g. sharp bend, roundabout or other junction, roadworks etc. It stays on until you reduce your speed to what I assume the car thinks is a safe speed for that particular hazard. Only appears in Eco Pro mode, and yes I rarely use EP except when giving my ageing step-mother a lift (she's of an age when men used to walk in front of cars and wave a red flag, and she howls at the slightest hint of acceleration!).
Curious how you switch it off (apart from staying in Sport mode ) - nothing in the handbook, iDrive, Google hasn't helped and the dealer hasn't a clue.

It's actually saying you should lift of the throttle and use the coast feature, which will then either reduce revs or charge the battery, depending on what the car thinks it needs.
It does it by reading the road by satnav data. I am sure that's what it says in the manual. |

Shouldn't happen in Comfort.
Also something like Vehicle Settings > Eco Pro > Disable Driving Tips or something along those lines.

I only ever get that in Eco Pro, tells you to lift off for the reasons directly above.

Thanks for the suggestions. I've tried turning off the Eco Pro Driving Tips before but to no avail, the symbol still comes up. It's actually a slightly different icon to the one you see when you go faster than the speed you set in the Eco Pro settings, which is just a foot + pedal + arrow. I've seen that one before when I experimented with that setting to see what it does. This symbol includes a representation of the road as well and is only triggered by hazards, not it seems by exceeding a preset speed threshold.
teaston last night I tried your suggestion of engaging Cruise Control and it does work, but it seems a bit crazy to enable cruise when you're approaching a hazard. There's a large roundabout not far from my house and the nanny light comes on about ¼ a mile out if just driving normally at say 50mph. Tried approaching it at 60mph with cruise on and the warning didn't show at all. Weird though, if it's saying "slow down, hazard ahead", then I'd have thought it would work in cruise as well. Technology!

I'm pleased to say I've never seen this.
