Rear screens

Does anyone have rear screens fitted in the headrests for the kids?

I fitted them to our Mazda 5 and Jaguar XF with DVD changers under each seat and a TV tuner in the Jag. Both times I bought a new set of headrests so the car was returned to stock when sold.

To be honest, you're better off with iPads these days.

I bought some Logik 9" DVD players from Currys recently for £99. Not fitted yet, but will get them hard wired in before our trip to France in August.

Picture quality looks great though, so should be spot on for the kids.

I bought 2 new amazon Fires for £39 each from Amazon and have loaded them with films and apps. Kids love them and they can use them on planes as well

How much does it cost to mount screens in the headrests?

Roughly?

All depends on the quality of the screens
You can buy 2 headrests with the screens already built in so you just swap them over with originals from eBay for around £229

Thanks man, let me know if you do yours.

I am tempted, as we have quite a few long journeys to do this year alone with the kids.

Is it a complexed job, wiring wise etc?

I bought a next base dvd player with bracket for the seat for occasional long journeys and does the job but agree Ipad is prob the way to go now assuming you're prepared to download all the content in advance - my 3 year old is so used to things like Netflix, iplayer and youtube he just wants to change programme after each episode so putting a disc in for 2 hours must seem old fashioned to him!
