Finally ....

After 6 months of waiting very patiently, I finally took delivery of my new 340i on Wednesday. I PX'ed it with my 328i M Sport, same colour, but a lot less options. The dealer couldn't believe his eyes regarding the condition of the 328i. It has done 6800 Miles in 3 and half years. He said it looked newer than the 340i

Anyways, I had originally decided to get the 340i Crystal Serum'ed but given the very low mileage I do and then fact that the car is always under a cover when unused, I have decided to just have a clear film applied to the front bumper, headlamps and the door mirrors.

I had asked the dealer not to wash the car. So today, I spent 4 hours washing, polishing and conditioning the leather

I must say, I love the individual leather on the seats, door cards and the dash. It makes a massive difference. The HUD is amazing, and I am now sold for life. The pro NAV is lovely. The engine note is very throaty which is what I have always wanted.

Even though the same colour as the 328i and the LCI differences are fairly minor, both my wife and my mum reckon there is a massive difference between the two. They kept saying to me that the 340i looks much better. I reckon it is the 405M (vs 403M) that fools them

Inside, I can definitely see and feel a jump in the quality of the material used (individual leather aside). This might be very subjective, but the black panel display seems sharper too.

Anyways, here are some photos I took earlier today:

Dunno how you survived the 6 month wait but it was worth it!
The 40i is a nice upgrade from the 4 cylinder..

My 328i is now 3 and a half years old and low mileage (although not quite as low as yours).
Can I ask you how much the dealer p/ex value was?
PM would be discrete.

Thanks Ben.

Yes, I have indeed. Just in the last 3 days, I have seen a definitive improvement and after seeing a second ENT specialist today (a professor at UCL), he thinks that although my case is very rare (the chickenpox virus affecting the hearing nerve stem to the brain) it should only improve over time. I must say I am much, much happier than I was only a week ago. Thanks for asking mate.

No worries. The PX was £17.5K. The car was the M Sport variant with the 403M wheels, HK, black panel display and Xenon as the only options. However, the car was priced in Jan when they thought I would get the new car in April. As it wasn't my fault that the delivery had been delayed (due to the leather dash), they kept that offer (very nice of them to do so) so I ended up with more equity in the car than I would have otherwise done so. I also had a very good deal on the new car.

Thanks. I have to agree with you. When I ordered it, I didn't quite realise that it would as nice as this.
